Internal Communications Executive
Milton Keynes
£28-35Kpa + Company Incentive Scheme (BONUS SCHEME SUSPENDED FOR 2020)
Reports to: Head of Corporate Communications
SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Internal Communications Executive is to engage and inform the 1600+ employees of the whole SGB organization at all locations across the UK.
Deliver an outstanding and agile internal communication writing, editing and publishing service for day-to-day updates across multiple internal channels; tech-based and traditional.
Develop and deliver an engaging series of communications in support of our Employer of Choice ambition, to improve our attraction, retention and engagement techniques in support of our focus on driving an improvement in Employer Brand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & TASKS
Internal Communications Delivery
* Be the primary point-of-contact for all internal communications activity. Be visible to the business, support decision making in others and be highly available to the business in the first instance to make sure the shift to a more proactive and controlled way of communicating is achieved
* Deliver a responsive and accurate internal communications publications service to the business.
* Take operational responsibility for key internal engagement mediums –TV screens, magazines, intranet options etc.
* Collaborate with the wider team to develop an internal Social Media strategy.
* Lead the planning of content to be published on these mediums by meeting with all internal departmental stakeholders to pre-plan weekly activity throughout the year.
* Provide an expert writing and editing service to the business.
* Brief agency suppliers to create creative content ideas and visuals following the agreed briefing process
* Drive an unrelenting focus on quality of communications –quality of designs, storytelling, visuals, grammar etc.
* Extensively collaborate with the marketing communications teams to ensure maximum awareness of all activity at all times, ensuring all planned activity is made aware in advance of going live and that all other managers have an opportunity to contribute/collaborate on content detail
* Work closely with the Marketing Business Partners to collaborate in achieving high quality local communications.
Employer Brand Activity
* Work extensively with the HR team, to define, plan and deliver a fully integrated communications schedule specifically targeted to deliver key metric improvements in Employer Brand (including Recruitment, Retention, Wellbeing and reputation).
* Define and deliver activity that will measurably increase the attractiveness and reputation of SGB as an employer of choice.
* Lead the agenda on the creative communication of Employer Brand within the business.
Business Communications Support
* Provide an agile support service in the production of presentation materials to be used by staff internally.
* Provide an agile support service to our frontline sales teams in support of increasing the quality of written communications, presentations and materials that are presented to customers.
* Draft messages or scripts for senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form
* Work with the Brand Management Designer to create compelling, creative and always on-brand internal and business support communications, headlines, graphics and animations.
* Handle the internal communications response to crisis situations which affect organisations perception and reputation.
* Encourage, respond and adjust to employee feedback
Content Management & Systems
Own the Reflex intranet channel for the UK.
Own the Intevi Employee screens technology and content management system planning for the UK.
Own the impending Employee App communication channel
Drive Innovation
Drive innovation in communication to improve effectiveness, reduce waste and improve automation in communications.
Monitor developing trends in the digital and automation arenas
Seek improvements in the delivery of internal communications, bulletins and updates
Sustainability Brand Building
Actively contribute in building the Scania employer brand to be perceived as a leader in ‘sustainable transport solutions’.
Collaborate with the UK Sustainability Officer to ensure sustainability messaging is integrated into your plans.
Marketing Communication Support
Hold regular meetings with all internal departments.
Drive and support the dealers/depots/Marketing Business Partners/Independents in the development of local internal communications plans/activities and follow up on implementation and results.
Support the dealers with information, tools, campaigns to plan and execute their employer brand plans

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant education or equivalent work experience
Business knowledge and experience from a similar role an advantage
Experience or education in writing skills,English degree or journalism.
