This is a successful Catholic Secondary School with an Ofsted 'Good' rating. Teaching Personnel have an excellent relationship with this school and pride itself on supporting temporary teachers into permanent roles at this school. They are one of the first-choice schools in the Milton Keynes area and have a supportive network of teachers who always welcome supply teachers as long-term teachers.
The role requires a Qualified Teacher who has experience teaching Chemistry to A Level. The school became a Science College in September 2003 and this has brought further opportunities to develop pupils’ work through the work of the Science leadership team as well as the Science College Managers. The Science curriculum is delivered by up to 17 staff, led by a Director of Science. Each subject specialism has its own teacher in charge: Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Vocational Science. The Heads of Specialism are responsible for curriculum development, monitoring and pupil performance in their specialist area. These roles are supported by a Key Stage Three coordinator(s) responsible for oversight of interdisciplinary science in years 7 and 8. There are 14 laboratories which are supported by preparation and storage areas and they are connected to the school’s IT network. This includes two prep laboratories and a large staff workroom that were completed in September 2012. The department and teaching staff are supported by four technicians. The Department is well equipped with physical, textbook and IT resources for pupils.
This is a temporary position but has the possibility to extend to a permanent position.
