Randstad CPE is currently working on behalf of an FM company in the Central Bedfordshire region that are looking to recruit a full time, permanent BMS Engineer to join them ASAP. The role is Monday to Friday and is only day work – this is not a shift role. The role will involve working on an industrial/commercial site and you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the BMS systems and rectifying any issues that may arise.
Whilst working for this company as a BMS Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring technical matters relating to control systems plant and equipment maintenance on-site following HSE. You will be responsible for managing the building control systems and ensuring that any issues that arise are efficiently dealt with. Your duties will also include but not be limited to –
Equipment and services inspections, testing, planned maintenance, modifications and fault finding
Electrically and mechanically isolate equipment so that it is safe to work on when appointed to do so
Carry out technical and quality audits
Identify and agree system enhancements to improve resilience and performance
Review alarm management protocols including critical alarm management procedures, reviewing key events including root cause analysis and appropriate response procedures and control measures
Monitor and assure the environmental controls within the building and in specialist areas conform to the required specifications
Ensure all planned and reactive works on Honeywell, Metasys and other PLC control systems, stand-alone controllers and HMI's including energy and power management system and lighting control systems and steam queuing system are completed to the correct client and legislative standardIf you are interested in working for this company, please ensure you meet the following requirements:
Have previous experience of working as a BMS Engineer
Formal Electrical apprenticeship
5 years experience in building services
HNC / HND (desirable)
