Salary £42,126 Per Annum
Full time – 37 hours per week

The Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust is a Buckinghamshire based housing association providing homes and services to local communities throughout the Vale of Aylesbury, we have around 7,200 homes. We pride ourselves on working closely with residents and surrounding communities to make sure we deliver high quality housing, homes and services. We are looking for a brilliant Contract Surveyor to help us achieve our vision and goals.
The Role:
Act as Contract Administrator for one or more of the Investment programme and planned maintenance contracts.
Ensure quality of works, manage the budgets assigned to the various contracts and deal with all contractual and site issues that may arise.
Manage all aspects of the delivery of the Stock Investment, Planned and Cyclical Maintenance Programmes, including enforcing contract conditions, making payments, agreeing valuations, undertaking valuations of completed works and issuing instructions.
Lead on the procurement and commissioning of services required to complete designated programmes of work, managing the tender administration process from inception to completion.
Ensure the development and implementation of modern contracts and relationship management practices within the Trust.
Assist in the development and implementation of a joined up design led approach to the Trust’s Planned and Cyclical maintenance programmes.
Required Skills and Experience:
RICS in Building Surveying or equivalent.
At least 3 years post qualification experienced.
Preparing tender documentation, analyzing tender returns reporting on tender outcomes.
Managing contractors.
Contract administration (of major works) and Contract Programming Skills.
CDM Coordinator duties under CDM regulations.
Ability to demonstrate formation of creative solutions to complex property related scenarios.
Strong budgetary and cost management skills.
Ability to solve complex problems and excellent decision making skills.
Able to communicate to various audiences both, orally and through written documents, reports and briefs.
Able to diagnose building defects and specify remedies.
Able to negotiate formally and informally, internally and externally securing co-operation from third parties and delivering value for money.
Comprehensive knowledge of contract law, framework, partnering, and open book accounting contracts.
Knowledge of Construction Regulations/Planning procedures including CDM regulations.
