Swarco Traffic are a leading supplier of smart, active signage solutions and the latest car parking and ticketing equipment in use across the UK and Europe. We require an experienced, flexible and self-motivated Stores Person/Administrator to join our small but important team full time on a temporary basis.
Requirements: Forklift Truck licence and experience essential
Principal Responsibilities:
* To take the lead in MK stores for Highways project needs, Soak test movements, install movements, accepting deliveries, bracket requirements & maintaining order in the MK yard etc
* Working closely with the Highways Project Manager, Engineers, Administrators & sub-contractors to ensure the smooth running of Highway projects.
* Maintaining the integrity of depot inventory for Highway signs.
* To assist with the maintenance of the MK site & equipment and assist with all other stores duties in MK for both Urban & Highway projects
Key Tasks:
* To assist with health and safety checks at the Milton Keynes depot, and assist with carrying out testing of depot equipment.
* To assist with LOLER tests for the depot and site engineers' equipment and assist with the testing of engineers' van equipment, including ladders, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, PPE, test meters and major tools.
* To provide holiday and sickness cover in the Milton Keynes stores and assist with preparing signs for sign facing, engineers testing, F.A.T. testing etc.
* Answering the back door, accepting deliveries and checking and booking in stock, putting stock away in the stores.
* Use of SAP to create purchase orders and to book stock in and out, issuing stock out to engineers.
* Updating of excel spreadsheets with stock information and use of Outlook for business emails, calendar, stored information.
* To carry out the testing and charging of batteries and building or breakdown of stillages.
* Tidying of staff kitchen space in the warehouse, emptying dishwasher
* With the project managers and with help from stores and engineers, assist with the loading, unloading and movement of signs around the yard. This will be done using forklift and counterbalance trucks and other lifting equipment.
* To take responsibility for Milton Keynes recycling and other rubbish removal and working with the other departments, ensure that the warehouse area is always neat and tidy.
* To participate in stock takes to ensure the highest level of accuracy that is practically possible is achieved and ensure that any paperwork is processed in accordance with the correct procedures and completed neatly and accurately and in a timely fashion.

* Supporting the Project Management team at Milton Keynes and support to stores and procurement
* Any other work that is reasonably asked for
Skills and Competencies Required:
* Team working ability
* Forklift licence and experience essential
* Good IT skills including Excel
* Good communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to work on their own initiative with minimal day-to- day supervision.
Must be able to adapt to changing priorities, be multi-tasking and react effectively under pressure
