We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to additionally join the team based in our Head Office in Southampton.
This role is Southampton based, but provides support to the whole business including our service centres. You will therefore be required to travel to these sites as required.

About the role;
* To develop, deliver and provide quantifiable auditing for a HSE training framework for all levels of Healthcare hierarchy.
* Set HSE audit schedules to incorporate all levels of management participation. Set up workplace inspection programs with depot level hierarchy.
* In conjunction with all management functions, develop, agree and implement a HSE reporting framework and associated KPIs.
* Provide company management with regular updates on HSE legislation and associated codes of practice. Review and update Company HSE systems and training programs.
* Safety briefings, bulletins or other suitable methods of communication to ensure all levels of hierarchy are kept up to date with any Healthcare HSE updates, revisions or new processes.
* Investigate and report on work-related accidents and incidents as necessary and provide target objectives to reduce Lost Time Accidents/Incidents (LTAs) to zero.
* Manage the RIDDOR reporting framework to ensure notifiable accidents, incidents, illnesses or near misses are reported accurately and in the appropriate timeframe.
* Develop and maintain pre-qualification HSE packs for commercial management and tendering processes.
* Ensure ISO pre-audits and full audits are appropriately planned and carried out
* Ensure annual subscriptions / accreditations to external bodies are maintained up-to-date.
* Liaise with external stakeholders on HSE matters.
* Review, revise and ensure Safe Systems of Work suitably reflect risk assessment control measures.
About you:
* In-depth knowledge of all applicable health and safety statutes applicable to Millbrook Healthcare. Specific attention to CoSHH, driving for work, fire safety, building services and statutory testing requirements, manual handling and general warehousing activities.
* Proven experience in the development, implementation and management of HSE systems and associated training systems (minimum 5 years experience in similar size business)
* Proven experience of CDM 2015 (or as amended), notifiable and non-notifiable projects is desirable
* Ability to balance HSE statutory requirements and Health Authority Codes of Practice (e.g. infection control) against Company HSE objectives and financial targets
* Proven experience in accident/incident investigations and compensation claims
* High standard of communication skills for all levels of hierarchy
* Experienced in producing formal reports for internal management and external authorities
* High levels of IT literacy
* Proven team player with the ability to use own initiative.
* You must have held a full UK driving licence
Qualifications:
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) – Essential
* Environmental Management qualification e.g. AIEMA – Desirable
* ISO internal auditor – Desirable and Train the Trainer – Essential
